Terms and conditions of venue hire


1. Booking:
A non-refundable Deposit of $400 is payable with your booking form. You will be invoiced prior to your function for the full payment of the balance. Balance of total cost is payable 60 days prior to function date. A $500 Bond in addition to the booking fee is required and will be added to the invoice.

2. Service of Alcohol & Use of the Bar:
As a condition of its Liquor Licence, Pacific SLSC is required to adhere to the guidelines for the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA). These laws must be observed by Pacific SLSC and any Hirer of the Club facilities. All alcohol served within the Pacific SLSC and adjacent areas associated with the hire of the club must be supplied and served by Pacific SLSC accredited staff. It is an offence to bring drinks of any kind on to licensed premises or to consume alcohol in the Club House surrounds including the car park.

3. Staffing:
Bar staff will be provided based on number of guests. Additional Bar Staff may need to be hired at the expense of the hirer as follows:
The hire price includes bar staff to serve 80 guests. Additional bar staff is required for larger events at an additional cost to the hirer.
Table service is not part of the hire agreement.

4. Smoking:
It is an offence to smoke within 4 metres of a building’s entrance. It is the Hirer’s responsibility to be familiar with the Smoking Management Plan and to alert guests. If cigarette butts are found in the Club surrounds a fee will be deducted from the bond. Smoking is not permitted anywhere within Pacific Beach Function Centre or Pacific SLSC, including balconies. There is a designated smoking area on the beachfront lawn.

5. Decorations:
Adhesives, pins or any items or materials of similar types are not permitted to affix decorations to ceilings, fans, walls, or floors.

6. Conduct within the Club and Environs:
The Hirer is to take all reasonable steps to ensure the responsible behaviour of all guests. Persons creating a disturbance will be required to leave the premises immediately. The use of confetti or sparkling objects and smoke machines/dry ice is not permitted. Candles are to be contained in holders that allow no wax drips on tables or floors.
We ask that guests be considerate of our neighbours nearby dwellings and leave in an orderly and quiet manner. The Club has strict noise levels regulations. All speakers must be inside the clubhouse and not exceed the noise limit restrictions as prescribed by our Liquor Licence.

7. Beach Front Lawn:
The grassed area and surrounds (including driveway) on the beach front is used to train, prepare and maintain lifesaving equipment and is generally not available during patrol operational times. During the periods September to April the grassed area will be used by the Pacific SLSC patrol for set up and pack up activities on weekends and public holidays. Use of this area is subject to approval by the Pacific Function Centre.
Emergency services access to the beach is required at all times.

8. Room Capacity:
Total room capacity shall not exceed 110 seated guests or 160 standing guests (cocktails style event).

9. Duration of Functions:
All functions are to conclude with all guests vacating the building no later than 11pm. Sound systems that need more than 15 minutes to pack down must finish earlier allowing for the extra time. All dirty crockery and food is to be cleared from tables before you depart the premises. All items, including decorations, are to be removed from premises as directed by Pacific Functions Centre. PLEASE NOTE that often we have back to back bookings and therefore removal of decorations and cleaning is required to happen prior to 11pm to allow for our cleaning contractors to clean and prepare the function room, balcony and bathrooms for the next event.

10. Birthday Parties:
Pacific Beach Function Centre does not hire the club for 18th or 21st Birthday parties. Hire of the function room for Birthday Parties is conditional and at the discretion of management who may require the engagement of Professional Security Staff who must be present for the entire function. The number of Security will be determined by management and may incur additional costs to the Hirer.

11. Cleaning / Damage:
Any additional cleaning or repairs to damage that is required as determined by the Pacific Beach Function Centre management will be deducted from the bond.

12. Confirmation:
Functions will not be considered confirmed until the deposit of $400 has been received by Pacific Beach Functions Centre together with the agreement.
The Hirer of the Function Centre shall indemnify and keep indemnified Pacific Beach Function Centre from against all actions, claims, loss and damage of any nature whatsoever, including loss of life, personal injury and damage to property, including damage to Pacific Beach Function Centre, Pacific SLSC and facilities, arising out of the hire or use of the Pacific Beach Function Centre by the Hirer.

13. Committee decision is final:
All functions are at the discretion of the Pacific Beach Function Centre which is governed by the Pacific SLSC Supporters Club Committee. Preference will always be given to Surf Lifesaving Events or Club Members Functions.

14. Bar Tabs:
Bar tab payment MUST be made in full 48hrs prior to event. Additional tab payments can be added on the night but must be paid in full by hirer at the time of the request.
